We collect salary data on all job ads posted through our platform to help both employers and jobseekers.
While you need to enter salary data when you post the job ad, you can choose whether or not to show the salary information to jobseekers. If you'd like to hide the salary information, just check the “Hide salary on your ad?” checkbox:
Why do we collect salary data for jobs on our platform?
For employers, we're collecting salary data so we can eventually show you up-to-date information about current salary levels for different for-purpose jobs in locations across Australia.
For jobseekers, salary is the number one most requested item on job ads. That's because while salary is rarely the most important thing for jobseekers when assessing a job, it is still the most commonly missing element on job ads that helps candidates to decide if a job is a good fit for them.
Data from EthicalJobs.com.au demonstrates that jobs that show a salary range more applications – an average of 39% more – than jobs that hide this information from applicants. And that ultimately helps employers to find more of the best candidates too.
